Police congratulated for Open Day in Worcester

At Tuesday’s (13 September 2011) meeting South Worcestershire Policing Board praised the Police in South Worcestershire for a successful Open Day at Worcester Police Station last Sunday (11 September).

Cllr Mary Drinkwater, Chair of South Worcestershire Policing Board

Cllr Mary Drinkwater, Chair of the South Worcestershire Policing Board, said: “The Police welcomed around 1,000 visitors on the day. It was lovely to see so many children and their parents clearly enjoying themselves. The time and effort Superintendent Cullen and his team of police officers, community support officers, police staff, special constabulary and volunteers took to show the public what the Police do is very much appreciated”.

The Policing Board also welcomed confirmation that ten experienced police officers, transferees from other forces, were expected this October in South Worcestershire. Cllr Mary Drinkwater said: “The transferees will be able to hit the ground running and ensure that policing levels are maintained.”

The South Worcestershire Policing Board, which is made up of West Mercia Police Authority Members Cllr Mary Drinkwater, Zad Padda, and Cllr Steve Brown, meets regularly with the Territorial Commander to monitor policing locally.
