Telford Policing Board Welcomes Street Pastors
The Telford & Wrekin Policing Board has welcomed the introduction of street pastors to the streets of Telford
Councillor Keith Austin, the new Chair of the Policing Board said “We very much welcome and appreciate the commitment of these volunteers in making sure that people, particular our young people, enjoy themselves safely on nights out. It is reassuring to know that Street Pastors will be on hand to provide support to those who feel or become vulnerable in any way on Friday nights.”
West Mercia Police Authority has recently appointed new members Councillors Keith Austin and Clive Elliott to the Telford & Wrekin Policing Board, along with existing member Arul Selvaratnam.
The Board meets regularly with Telford & Wrekin’s Territorial Commander, Gary Higgins, to ensure that local views are taken into account in policing and to monitor delivery of the West Mercia Policing Plan.
