POLICING MATTERS GROUPS MEETINGS
Public Meetings & Events
Public meetings and events are held across the force area to provide people with the opportunity to meet members of their local Police Command Team, Police Authority Members and Partner Agencies, find out what they are doing for the area and have an opportunity to have their say.
Initially branded Policing Matters, the format of these meetings is reviewed each year and continues to evolve. In 2010 where possible we are working with partner agencies to hold joint public meetings and events to avoid consultation/meeting overload i.e.: Telford & Wrekin Division - combined with the Your Community Matters Events, co-ordinated by Telford & Wrekin Council, taking place during Spring and Summer 2010.
Shropshire Division - combined with Shropshire Area Partnership Forum meetings, organised by Shropshire Council, taking place Spring 2010.
Herefordshire - In addition to Herefordshire PACT meetings, during Spring/Summer consultation is being undertaken with specific interest groups such as businesses, children and young people. A public meeting will be held later in the year (details to be confirmed).
North Worcestershire - Annual public Policing Matters meetings held during May/June in each of the three market towns of Kidderminster, Bromsgrove and Redditch.
South Worcestershire - Three Policing Matters Groups covering Wychavon, Worcester City and Malvern Hills, each with an independent chair, hold public meetings across their areas throughout the year.
Policing Matters meetings supplement Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meetings. PACT meetings are very localised tactical meetings, which provide residents with the opportunity to meet with the Local Policing Team and partner agencies to identify and agree specific priorities for improving their local neighbourhood over the coming weeks and months and to receive feedback on progress. The priorities agreed may, or may not be related to policing.
